From Proto-Semitic *ʾanθ-at-. Cognate with Ugaritic 𐎀𐎘𐎚 (ảṯt), Aramejski אִנְתְּתָא (ʾintəṯā), אִיתְּתָא (ʾittəṯā), Arapski أُنْثَى (ʾunṯā).
