Latinized form of Германски name suffix -lind, -linde (tender, soft), such as Sieglinde and Dietlinde, from Пра-Германски *linþiz (gentle, mild) (Енглески lithe). Found in names such as Old High German Irmilinda and Old Dutch Frithelind. See lind, Linda.
