- The thirty-second letter of the Early Cyrillic alphabet. Its name is yat (Old Church Slavonic ѣtь, Russian яtь, Bulgarian яt, Serbian and Macedonian jat) and it represented the Common Slavonic long vowel /æː/, sometimes transliterated as ě. It is preceded by Ь and followed by Ю.
